Managing Users

Under Access Management, the admin is able to manage users, including their roles. The admin also has the ability to login as a given user. This is useful for debugging, when a user complains of a functionality in their account, the admin can login as that user and to replicate that error without having the user’s password. Also other expected functionality such as viewing the user, editing the user’s information, re-sending users activation emails, deactivating and clearing sessions etc are available here.

The application has 3 roles – Administrator, Author and User. When a user first registers, they get the role of user with no permissions. But when they create their first course as authors, they are automatically reassigned the author role.
